PBM stands for Portable Bitmap, and it is a monochrome image format that is part of the Netpbm package. It stores image data as a series of ASCII or binary values representing each pixel in the image, with 1s representing black pixels and 0s representing white pixels. PBM files are simple and easy to read but can be quite large since they do not use any compression.
