Portable pixmap format (color)
PPM stands for Portable Pixmap, and it is a simple image format that is part of the Netpbm package. The PPM format stores color images in a plain text or binary format, representing pixel values with three numbers for red, green, and blue color channels. PPM files are easy to read and understand, but they can be large in size as they do not employ any form of compression, resulting in each pixel being represented by full color intensity values.
Joint Photographic Experts Group JFIF format
The "JPE" file extension is a less common extension used for JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) images. JPEG is a widely used image format known for its lossy compression, which significantly reduces file sizes while maintaining a high level of image quality, making it popular for photographs and web images. The "JPE" extension functions the same as the more common ".jpg" or ".jpeg" extensions, and it can be opened and edited with most image viewing and editing software. The reason for the different extensions simply comes down to historical variations and software preferences, and they all represent the same JPEG image format.
