ERF (Epson Raw File), is a raw image file format used by Epson digital cameras, capturing all the data directly from the camera’s sensor without any in-camera processing or compression. This format enables photographers to have extensive control over post-processing, allowing for adjustments to exposure, color balance, and other parameters to achieve the desired image quality. However, ERF files are typically larger in size compared to standard compressed image formats and require specialized software for viewing and editing.

PPM stands for Portable Pixmap, and it is a simple image format that is part of the Netpbm package. The PPM format stores color images in a plain text or binary format, representing pixel values with three numbers for red, green, and blue color channels. PPM files are easy to read and understand, but they can be large in size as they do not employ any form of compression, resulting in each pixel being represented by full color intensity values.
